

ADVANCE-Beverly Jeanne Fritche Rudy, 85, of Bermuda Village, passed away on February 27, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Bellaire, OH on Nov. 14, 1926, a daughter of the late Charles and Wilma Tharp Fritche.
Jeanne was a graduate of New Philadelphia, OH High School, class of 1944 and attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin, OH. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1948 and married her high school sweetheart, the late Dennis D. Rudy.
Jeanne worked as an elementary school librarian in Newark, DE. She was a past President of the Wilmington, DE branch of the American Association of University Women and served in various offices of the Association in the Newark, DE, Corpus Christi, TX and Wilmington, DE branches as well as the Delaware State Organization. Jeanne was also a member of the Winston-Salem Branch. In January 2005, she was honored by the National Association of AAUW for her 50 years of membership and volunteer work. Jeanne and Dennis moved to Bermuda Village in November 1993 after his retirement from the DuPont Company and became members of Clemmons Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the choir and numerous committees and had also worked as a volunteer at Shady Grove Elementary School. From mahjong to investing, book discussions to wine appreciation, Jeanne had greatly diverse interests. Aside from her family and friends, traveling the world was her passion.
Her husband of 54 years preceded her in death. She is survived by one son, Steven (Susan) of Castle Rock, CO; daughters, Debbie Brass of Mayfield Heights, OH; C.J. Pace (Lee) of Aston, PA; and Becky Nowling (Jeff) of Tucker, GA; sister, Charlotte Snyder of New Albany, IN; grandchildren, Carl Brass, Courtney Brass, Stephanie Nowling, Michael Nowling, Becca Pace, and Jill Jameson; brother-in-law, Kenneth Rudy (Linda) of Marion, OH; nieces Heidi Snyder and Susie Seay (Wayne); and nephew Joe Snyder (Shelly).
A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 in the living room at Bermuda Village with a Celebration of her Life reception immediately following. Inurnment will be at a later date in New Philadelphia, OH.
