Bradford Todd Kauffman will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, a sensitive brother, and a compassionate friend, worship leader, musician, pastor, and meticulous carpenter. His selflessness and love for others was shown in everything he did. This love came from his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Brad was the son of a pastor; the grandson of pastors; and the brother of pastors. Living, preaching, and singing God’s word and love was something instilled within him from before birth.
Brad was born in Lancaster, PA on November 28, 1966 to Marlin and Joan Shenk Kauffman. He was the oldest of 8, with 7 sisters. Brad attended Christ For The Nations Institute (NY campus) and fell right into his music ministry and pastoral calling. He spent 15 years at The Church of Grace and Peace in New Jersey as their Worship Pastor, Christian School Chaplain, and Small Groups Leader. Brad moved to North Carolina in 2010 to take a position at Agape Faith Church. Shortly thereafter, he met and fell in love with the love of his life, his darling wife, Nikki, and became a father to his beautiful children. He was then called to Awake Church where he has spent the last several years as their Get Together Groups Pastor. Brad’s ability to lead people into worship, preach God’s Word, and his talent of storytelling, led him to be a wonderful musician, pastor, loving husband, father, and friend.
Brad loved to work with his hands, particularly in carpentry. He had a true passion for woodworking and finished carpentry. He specialized in framing, molding, and staircases. His acute eye for detail and perfection made his projects true works of art.
Brad leaves behind his (as he referred to) darling wife, Nikki Kauffman; children, Caleb (Bri) Horn, Carly Kauffman, Hunter Kauffman; father, Marlin Kauffman; sisters, Leigh (Jan) Hjaltalin, Shay Kauffman, Joni (Gil) Logatto; Rebecca (Robert) Clark, Elizabeth (Adam) Panepinto, Emily (Greg) Bailey, and Ami(Nathaniel) Phillips; and several nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
A celebration of Brad’s life will be on Friday, January 14th at 1pm at Awake Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hydrating Humanity at hydratinghumanity.org
