She graduated from Winston Salem State with a degree in Education. Brenda went on to work for Piedmont Airlines where she retired with over 30 years of service.
Brenda was a lifelong member of Hickory Grove A.M.E. Zion Church. She thoroughly enjoyed her time with her church family and acting as the church treasurer. In her free time, Brenda loved gardening, drawing, reading, hosting events, and baking. She really loved baking and everyone that knew her really loved her baking. From her pies, tarts, and desserts, she was known as the “best cake maker.”
She leaves behind her son, Lane Banner, and his partner, Daiva Beck; granddaughter, Kayana Banner; cousins, Sandra Bray, Raymond (Victoria) Phelps, and Albert L. Phelps; and many other loved ones and friends.
Brenda was a loving mother, adoring grandmother, and attentive friend. Her chess pie tarts as well as her gentle and kind spirit will really be missed.
