Charles William Morrison

Charles was born on August 31, 1931, near Church Hill, TN to the late Charlie Harrison Morrison and Pearl Fincher Morrison. He attended the public schools of Hawkins and Sullivan counties, and East Tennessee State University at Johnson City, TN.

He was a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church and had retired as a flight dispatcher from Piedmont Airlines with over 34 years of service. He was also a 32nd degree Mason, Shriner, and member of Clemmons Chapter 373 Order of the Eastern Star. He served 4 years with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Charles Morrison; brothers, Samuel Morrison of Church Hill, TN, Richard Morrison of Rogersville, TN, Calvin Morrison (Imogene) of Kingsport, TN, George Morrison of Church Hill, TN, Herman Fred Morrison of Corryton, TN; and sisters, Hattie Taylor (Marty) of Colonial Heights, TN, Gracie Hall Hayes (Carl), Onie Broyles Wright (Tilmer) both of Kingsport, TN; and brother-in-law L.D Wright of Bristol, TN.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Rimer Morrison (of the home); son, Mark Anthony Morrison (Cathy); grandchildren, Rebecca and Matthew Morrison (all of Charlotte, NC); brothers, Austin (Carol) of Blountville, TN, Harry (Juanita) of Rogersville, TN; sisters, Brenda McClure Matheson Baumgardner (Larry) of Jefferson City, TN, Diane Wright of Bristol, TN; sisters-in-law Gladys Morrison of Church Hill, TN, and Judy Morrison of Corryton, TN, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Clemmons First Baptist Church on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 4:00pm.
