Cynthia Lee Manno, 72, of Clemmons passed away April, 17, 2019 at Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Manno was born December 30, 1946 to the late Russell and Donna Elliot of Cook County, Chicago, IL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Susie. Cynthia is survived by her husband Joseph of Clemmons, NC, daughter Gretchen of Gulf Breeze, Fl, Son Joey of Lexington, NC, sister Kathy of Minneapolis, MN, sister Sandy of Strongsville, OH and 6 grandchildren, Caroline, Sarah, Ben, Maggie, Perrin and Gareth. Cynthia graduated from Carl Sandburg High School, in Oakland Park, IL in 1965 and served in the USMC from 1965-1966. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, photography, painting (& other arts). She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved researching genealogy. Cynthia was also a Human Rights advocate, starting the local Amnesty International Chapter in Winston-Salem, NC in 1974. She was an adored wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Cynthia was also very passionate about her faith and was a long time member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir for twenty years. A Funeral Mass will be held 11AM Monday April 22, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons. Inurnment will take place 11AM Tuesday, April 23 at Salisbury National Cemetery with Military Honors.
