David Loyd Dozier Sr.

He joined the St. Marks AME church at an early age and attended faithfully through his teenage years.

David graduated from LA Ingram High School "Class of 1959", where he was an outstanding football and basketball player. He was married twice. After graduation in 1959 he married Yvonne Hill. To this union, two children were born, Stefan L. Dozier and David K. Dozier, Sr. He also has a beautiful son, David Loyd Dozier, Jr. that was born in November 1973. In march 1979 he married Jean Davis in Brooklyn, New York. This union included one son Fredrick L. Vines, Sr.

David was employed by Hayward Industries where he enjoyed a long and successful career, rising to a management position. The company moved their operations to Clemmons, North Carolina where David and Jean currently make their home. David enjoyed working and was loved and respected by all at Hayward.

David joined the First Baptist Church in Harmony, North Carolina in 1997 where he was the Assistant Chairman of the Trustees, a member of the Usher Board, Superintendent of Sunday School, Secretary of the Willing Workers Senior Ministry, a member of the Men's choir, the Vocal Choir, the Bylaws Committee and the Finance Committee. He enjoyed spending time with his church family. The message of God's love and salvation walked with him daily.

He was preceded in death by his parents Zedekiah and Hattie Mae Dozier and two brothers John C. Dozier and Edward L. Dozier, Sr.
