Edward Ernest Wilke

Edward E. Wilke, born in Yankton, SD in 1940, raised in Sherill, IA, passed away on June 13, 2026, surrounded by family. Edward resided most recently in Clemmons, NC, for 10 years and lived 15 years in Arizona, 22 years in Cedar Rapids, IA, and, also lived in several other states. He and wife, Barbara, of 62 years prioritized family and it was his deepest source of happiness.

Edward was a proud Navy sailor and took his military-gained education to pursue a career in electronics with GE/Rockwell. In his retired life, he enjoyed traveling to Spain, volunteering at the food pantry, and “chasing granddaughter”, in his own words.

He was beloved by his family and leaves behind his wife, daughters Kathy and Kristi, three granddaughters Megan, Elena and Elisa, and son-in-laws Donald and Jose. Other family members include his sister Beverly and brother Richard.

He will be remembered as the reliable, loving, selfless, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. We will love and miss him until we eventually reunite one day.
