

She loved flowers; was an avid gardener who made altar flower arrangements from her garden for the church each week for many years.
She and Wade (also known as Joe) loved to cook. They made many meals for family and folks in need.
Mrs. Harris attended Union Grove Baptist Church. She had a very strong faith and loved to share with everyone she met. She opened her home to missionaries so they would have a place to stay when in Winston-Salem and also supported them financially.
She was well loved by everyone who met her, especially children, who often called her “Grandma Elena.”
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris, was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wade Harris; sisters, Veonia Foster, Mildred Foster, and Zella Foster; and brothers, Billy Gene Foster, Sterlie Foster, Arvin Foster, Richard Foster, Olin Foster, Harry Foster, and Harold Foster.
She is survived by daughter, Carol Harris Robinson of Winston-Salem; and sister, Betty Ann Foster Blackburn of Wilkesboro.
A funeral service will be held January 11, 2013, 2:00 pm, at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park.
