My sincerest condolences to Mrs Ashworth’s family. She was a bright light and a safe space for me in high school. We loved to surprise her on her birthday. She probably knew but acted surprised and was so appreciative of our class. I will always remember her fondly.

My Grandchildren loved her immensely and will miss her so. She made such an impact on their lives and the lives of so many others. She was a one of a kind Lady and I will miss our daily talks, laughs and special friendship. The World is a little less brighter without her.

Lib was a neighbor and good friend of my family since the late 60’s attending the same church. She and Mother had a special relationship. I can just hear Lib say , ‘Ms. Mary’ . She and I became closer later in yrs. and did lots of things together. I remember when she was directing weddings and I went with her several times ( told her I always wanted to crash a wedding) We 
actually talked about how we could do it.😆
She loved planning outings for her lady friends  and many times with a ‘theme’ . I was blessed going with her to visit/support Montagnard families & meet several of her former students over the yrs of whom she stayed close. And then there was the special trips for many yrs that she  loved planning for her granddaughter, Caemon , inviting me. Grove Park Inn, Abington, Greenville, Roanoke, to name a few. ( we 
loved our shopping didn’t we , Caemon?😁

I’m so grateful I could be at Caemon & Kaleb ‘s in April. Before the dinner, Lib & I enjoyed looking at each place setting of the individual pictures taking with Caemon . (so sweet & unique)  A very special day !  
I will miss my friend but will always treasure our times ❤️

I totally enjoyed working with Lib at East Forsyth. She would often invite me into her class room where I would do guidance activities with her students. She possessed all the qualities of a great teacher.

Sending Deepest Sympathy and prayers for comfort to the family of " Mrs. Ashworth".   I have fond memories of her being  my  teacher at East Forsyth HS back in the very early 80's. Rest in Peace, Lib.   ( I'm writing this worrying about my grammar).

My husband, Eric, and I adored Ms. Ashworth. Even though she often encouraged me to call her Lib, I could never quite bring myself to do it. I’m incredibly grateful for her kindness, encouragement, and support when I first began teaching at East Forsyth. She was always so generous with her time and wisdom. Even after I left East, our friendship continued. I enjoyed sitting with her at church, where she often shared stories about her sons and grandchildren whom she loved tremendously.

Ms. Ashworth was a phenomenal educator, a dear friend, a woman of strong faith, and a true blessing to me and so many others. I’m so thankful for the positive impact she had on both my career and my life. She will be deeply missed.

I’m keeping her family in my prayers, and a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital has been made in her memory.

Mom came to my daughter's wedding in April.  Though the day was long and taxing on her physically, she carried herself with poise and grace. As I hear from her friends, colleagues, relatives, and anyone she met, these were hallmark characteristics of the woman I got to call mom.
    Throughout my life, no matter what, mom was always there for me.  She pointed me towards Christ always even when I could not hear her in the moment. After 86 years, she is sitting at the feet of the King, worshipping her Lord and Savior face to face. She heard the words we should all long for, "well done good and faithful servant." To a person, everyone has told me how much Lib gave of herself to help them, and to a person, she would want everyone she knew to also accept Jesus as their Savior. I will get to see her again one day, but for now, I will remember the woman God blessed me with to call MOM.

My sincere condolences to her family. I remember her smile and being just what we needed during my days at EFHS. Her legacy will live on forever.

Figuratively and Literally a " Classical / Scholar " giant in the pantheon of educators at East Forsyth. A most composed and dignified individual with a " measured but keen wit. ! " She always refered to ME as Mister and never Coach Harris ... regna' en postate', requiecasca' en pace' !!

Ms Ashworth was one of my English teachers when I attended at EFHS and I can say only a few of my teachers stood out enough I remember them now 25 years on am since I walked those hallowed halls. She was truly a sweet and kind lady and she would support you as a student in all the ways she could and never let you give up. I struggled in literature courses and English because I truly hated reading and she was one of my two English teachers than I to this day remember really putting in an effort that helped me get though my 4 years of high school. God bless your soul Ms. Ashworth you truly did some great work with your life on this spinning ball of dirt, rock and water. I hope your family finds peace in knowing your life was a huge impact on so very very many people.

I was supposed to have another teacher as my cooperating teacher back in the early 90s.  Ms. Ashworth came to East Forsyth office area and said, "Hi, I'm Ms. Ashworth.  You must be Greg, and you'll be student-teaching with me."  I was disappointed because I had already worked out a few details with the other teacher.  I tried not to show it, but she knew, AND she never said a word.  At the end of the semester, she said, "I know you didn't want me as your cooperating teacher, but I think things turned out okay."   Boy, did they ever.  Her kindness and patience towards students--and me--were career-changing.  She always reminded me when I got frustrated, "Mr. Tuttle, they are only 15 years old.  Be patient."  Such wise words.  If you were lucky enough to have Lib Ashworth as your teacher, you realized how much she cared about people.  I am sorry for the family's loss, and I hope knowing her influence on literally thousands of people brings you some comfort.  Rest easy, Lib.

Many thoughts, prayers, and love to Mrs Ashworth’s sons, and family. She loved you dearly. Her boys and  grandchildren were always a blessing to her, and she loved to tell me how wonderful they were! Absolutely one of the GREATEST to ever teach! My English teacher, Mom away from home, and the first teacher to ever make me believe I could do anything. She was my mentor when I returned to EFHS as a teacher. She was a wonderful friend, and confidant. She always cared for others, and was an inspiration to many. Mrs Ashworth was a strong individual, and  a tremendous woman of faith. Earth has one less angel, but Heaven gained a FANTASTIC one! Enjoy your wings, and the splendor you looked forward to seeing.

She became a dear friend with great advice for me as I navigated a divorce, always cheering me on and encouraged me as I chose a path to become a teacher. I will miss her  love and wisdom. I loved seeing the pictures from her granddaughter’s wedding-she looked so happy!!

Jeremiah and Lib had a very special bond.

Jeremiah and Lib loved each other very much!  Before we moved to Hendersonville Lib even watched him occasionally so I could run errands. She knew how to keep busy little boys happy!

Lib was a rock to our family as we navigated Jeremiah’s adoption. She became a part of our family afterward always thinking of us. She never missed thinking of him and his next oldest brother Christopher at birthdays and Christmas.

Mrs. Ashworth was my 10th grade English teacher at EFHS. We bought her a skydiving package and she said she would use it on her 80th birthday.  She checked in with me several times over the years.  She explained to me about her decision not to sky dive, but it was always fun to check in with her to see if she had made the jump yet. I was blessed with a lot of great teachers and she was among them.  I have very fond memories of Mrs. Ashworth.  She truly was a highlight of my time at EFHS.  Will say a prayer for peace and comfort. Much love Mrs. Ashworth!

We are so sorry to hear about Ms. Ashworth’s passing. Carlton said she was like a second mom. Thank goodness she let him come back to stay the night with Stephen after eating all the chicken and dumplings. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers.

So very sorry for the loss of such a fine person. She was my English teacher at North Rowan High School in the early 60's. She loved her students and long after I graduated, married and moved away she found me and sent me an essay I had written in her class. I will cherish that paper even more now knowing that she cared enough to locate me and mail it to me. Prayers for her family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of “ Miss Lib” as she was affectionately referred to by Montagnard families she helped to sponsor in North Carolina. 
My late husband,  Carl Regan, and I met Lib through Montagnard families we were assisting. Lib’s involvement and love for the Montagnard refugee families knew no limits.  Wherever she saw a need, she tried to find a solution, so very generous with her time and resources. She loved hosting children in her home, enriching their skills, knowledge and life experiences, as these children so enriched her life.

It was an honor to know and work with Miss Lib, in our mutual efforts to support and educate the Montagnard community. 
May she rest in peace , with her Heavenly Father.

She was my favorite teacher at East Forsyth. I learned so much from her, in the classroom and beyond. I was blessed to reconnect with her years after I graduated, and we stayed in touch. We shared family stories, our beliefs, our Christian walk, amusing anecdotes, and I know I'll see her again one day in Heaven. In the meantime, she will be very, very much missed. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

A very special lady.  I met her in the late 60s at East Forsyth and later taught with her at Hanes and again at East Forsyth.  Our friendship is over 50 years.  On June 25, 1982 she directed my wedding and 43 years later she gained her angel wings!  As teachers we all have mentors and role models who we admire because of their excellence.  Your mom was such a person for many of us!  I think the Good Lord puts certain people in your path to help direct your life. Your mom was an excellent teacher but more so human being!
