Eric Timothy Hicks

Statesville- Mr. Eric Timothy Hicks, 33, of Statesville died September 12, 2012 in Lincolnton due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. A memorial service will be held September 22, at 2 PM at Sunrise United Methodist Church in Lewisville with Dr. Tim Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Hicks was born in Forsyth County to Michael and Betty Vogler Hicks. He was employed in the lawn care business. Eric will be remembered by his family and friends as the life of the party and always loving to make people laugh. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and spending time with his children fishing on the river, building a bon fire and playing. His heart was so big and his family was very important to him. He loved racing and played the guitar. He was a man of many talents and a jack of all trades.

He is survived by his wife Shanon Hawks-Hicks of Statesville; mother and husband Betty and Rick Cusson of Winston-Salem; children, Timothy and Timothy’s mother, Brandi Duggins of Stokes County, Shyanne and Nakoma of Statesville; sister and her spouse Misty and Heather Poe of Statesville; paternal grandmother, Attareese Wright of Midway; nieces, Katlynn and Britney Mauk of Statesville; special cousin, Vickie Transou of Yadkin County; mother and father-in-law, Darlene Hawks of East Bend and Leon Hawks of Fancy Gap, VA and several cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father Michael Hicks, maternal grandparents, Wade Vogler, Sr. and Beatrice Vogler, paternal grandfather, Walser Lee Hicks, cousin, Mark Johnson, and uncle, Wade “Bud” Vogler, Jr.
