October 6, 1937 – November 18, 2021
Eva Litt Cruse, better known as Mickey, transitioned into eternal rest on November 18, 2021 surrounded with warm love and her family. Mickey was born to William C and Edith L Litt and spent her childhood between Savannah and Chicago. She proudly called herself the Original Georgia Peach and cherished her time and lifelong friendships from Mother McCauley High School in Chicago. After 2 years at DePaul University she transferred to University of Tennessee, the decision that largely defined her life. She met the love of her life, Lamont, and they began their life together that took them from Roanoke, Virginia to New York City, to Burlington , NC and finally to Clemmons, where they raised their two children, Kevin and Caroline. Their life together was blessed by deep, loyal friendships that have been paramount to her sustaining such an abundance of love and life after losing Lamont in 1998. Her children honor their friends who stayed steadfast with her, especially Joe and Sandy Turner. After being a stay at home mom (ie Children’s Theatre volunteer, aerobics enthusiast, sports and dance shuttle service, and Julia Child wanna be), Mickey started her career in real estate with Lambe Young and eventually Graham and Boles, which gave her as much purpose as it did fulfilling friendships. Mickey was known for being perfectly accessorized, fond of gimlets and Old Fashioned’s, ready with Hot Cheese to be shared at parties and with friends, and walking countless miles in Old Meadowbrook. Her life was immeasurably blessed by the staff at Bermuda Village and Griswold Home Care as she began her journey with Lewy Body Dementia. Her family expresses their deep appreciation for the unwavering love and genuine care by the Bermuda Village staff team and especially her Griswold Home Care caretaker Pam Spainhour. They became her family, and ensured her journey was full of love, laughter, patience and devotion that only these special caretakers can provide. Mickey is survived by her son Kevin, his wife Laurie and their boys, Cosmo, Noah and Jaxon and her daughter Caroline, husband Trevor and their daughter Cecelia.A celebration of her beautiful life will be scheduled in early 2022. In the meantime, cherish traditions, celebrate friendships, share your best recipes and drink an Old Fashioned or some of the good Eggnog in this season in her honor.

Caroline and Kevin, my memories of Mickey are so special. I feel like I have shared Caroline with Mickey as a beautiful daughter. I know you will truly miss your Mom, and so will we. I’m pretty sure precious Cecelia is going to follow in Mickey’s footsteps.
Know that David and I have you in our thoughts and prayers. May God grant you peace as you go through this difficult time.
Kevin, I’m sure Mickey is blowing out your birthday candles as you celebrate 50 years.
Love and prayers coming your way!
Love, David and Hilda
