Frederic Jorge Fusté passed away on January 16, 2021 in Lewisville at the age of 73. Fred was born on March 30, 1947 in Havana, Cuba to the late Dr. Federico and Elvira Fusté. In 1960, he and his family fled from Cuba to Memphis during the Cuban Revolution. In Memphis, Fred met his wife, Brenda Harper, and they were married in 1967. Fred spent much of his career with Sara Lee Direct, retiring as the Vice President of Operations in 2002. As a child, he was a remarkable baseball player; an avid golfer as an adult; and later in life, enjoyed his daily walks.
Fred leaves behind his wife, Brenda Harper Fusté; daughter, Belinda Fusté-Herrmann (Michael); grandson, Charlie Herrmann; sisters, Ana Maria Fusté and Beatrice Morales (Manuel); and a myriad of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Fred was a loving husband, devoted father, adoring “Papá”, loyal friend, and caring dog owner. He will forever be missed by all that knew him.
A gathering of remembrance will be on Friday, January 22nd from 1pm to 2pm at Forsyth Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or local humane society.
