

Garland passed away on July 15, 2021 at the age of 85 in Winston Salem. He was born on August 17, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late William and Opal Crews. After high school, Garland proudly served his country in the United States Army.
In 1956 Garland married Sonja Elliott. The two of them enjoyed their time together searching for and collecting antiques and working flea markets. Garland loved fishing with his family and friends for “any kind of fish that bites”.
Garland leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Sonja Elliott Crews; sons, Sam (Debbie) Crews and Bryan (Aprille) Crews; grandchildren, Jay (Barbie) Crews, Brandon (Brandy) Crews, TJ Bell (Sarah Glasco) and Isaac Bell; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Samuel , Maya, and Shelby Crews; half sister, Ailene Craft, her children, and many other nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
