Rick was born in Winston Salem on May 10, 1956. He worked construction most of his life, finding pride in his electrical work, but he was truly a jack-of-all-trades. He could fix or build anything. Rick had a wonderful sense of humor and was a gifted storyteller. His bright spirit and wit made him everyone’s best friend.
In his spare time, he loved fishing, hunting, vermiculture, gardening and was an avid NASCAR fan. But most of his time was spent with his family. Rick loved his family so much and they loved him. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, George Richard Wilson, Sr. and Betty Jane Preston Overby, and his step-father, Boodie Overby. He leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Karen Tittsworth Wilson; children, Stephanie Wilson and Daniel “Gage” (Bekah) Wilson; granddaughter, Jade Brewer; siblings, Teresa “Kay” Frye, Gary (Cecilia) Wilson, and Renee (Kenny) Overby-Tackett; nieces, Kristie (Bill) Kaiser and Brittany Wilson; 3 great nieces; and his fur babies, Elvis and Boomer.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 1st from 6-8pm at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, 2849 Middlebrook Drive. The funeral will be Thursday, May 2nd at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Richardson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
