Geraldine Baynes Eggleston

Geraldine Baynes Eggleston passed away at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living in Davidson County on Jan. 6, 2013. She was born in 1919 in Forsyth County to the late William T. Baynes and Vera Masten Baynes of 107 Gloria Ave. Winston-Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John L. Eggleston who worked for Carolina Steel Inc. She served in the Women’s Army Corp. from 1945-1946 as a Corporal. She worked as a Forsyth County Librarian retiring in 1984. She is a member of Trinity Moravian Church of Winston-Salem. She is survived by her sister, Mary Lucy Owen of Davidson County; three nephews; one niece; as well as cousins, Phillip M. Tatem and Mary Helen Linville of Clemmons.

The services of Christian Burial will be held at Vogler’s Reynolda Chapel on Friday, Jan. 11 at 12 o’clock. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-12:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow service at the Salem Moravian Graveyard of Winston-Salem. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity Moravian Church, 220 E. Sprague St. Winston-Salem, NC.
