

Mr. Henry Carl Stewart of Lewisville, NC died on September 26, 2015 at the Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home. He was a former resident of Regency Care in Clemmons. He was born on July 4, 1933 in Lewisville, NC. He was the son of the late Lindsay Avery and Etta Shelton Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Clemmons, NC, prior to family illness. He became self-employed after working at the Lewisville Roller Mill, L.A. Reynolds, and Gilbert Transfer. His work life would may be best remembered from his days as owner/operator of the Lewisville Shell Service Station and the Henry Carl Stewart Trucking Company.
Mr. Stewart is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Frances Mae Stewart. He is survived by son Bryan Stewart, and daughter in law Maria Stewart. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Meredith and Marcus Stewart, both who he greatly adored. He is survived by one sister, Violet Swain. He was proceeded in death by one brother, Charlie Stewart, and two sisters, Ruby Loman and Mabel Stewart. He is also survived by two sisters in law, Magdalene Stewart and Lottie Mae Hutchins, and two brothers in law, Raymond Plemmons and Jerry Swain. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Henry Carl was a great man, a great husband, a great father, and a loving grandfather. He was one of the best, most kind, helpful, funny, and most giving people , you could have ever hoped to meet. Henry Carl loved to sing; even making up his own songs at times. Many may remember him singing ‘Amazing Grace’. All of us who knew him were blessed. Henry Carl loved to talk and had many stories to share about his life, family, and friends. He loved visitors and enjoyed time spent with Anne and Tommy Ridings, Marvin Rose and family, Sidney Teague, and many other friends. Late in life, he appreciated his friendship with his roommate at Regency Care in Clemmons, Carlton Eldridge.
Visitation will be held at 1pm on Tuesday September 29th, followed immediately by a memorial service conducted by Reverend Paul Stewart (of Shady Grove Baptist Church) at Vogler's Funeral Home in Clemmons, NC .
