

Born June 8, 1943, in Memphis, Tennessee, he was the son of the late John Lott and Sarah Elizabeth (Adams) Pickle.
He earned his Masters of Public Administration from Memphis State in 1977. Jim spent much of his early career with Methodist Hospitals in Memphis. In 1987, he was named President and CEO of Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, a position he held until 1994. He then served as President of the Kentucky Division of Columbia/HCA.
Jim’s later career included management positions in London, Dubai, and Botswana. Jim took particular pride in his years as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dogwood Village of Memphis, an organization close to his heart.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Peggy (Massey) Pickle, his sons, Jeffrey (Jeff) Pickle and wife Kimberly, and Matthew (Matt) Pickle and wife Christine; his four grandchildren, Sarah, Alyssa, Caroline, and Connor; and his brothers, David and Stephen Pickle (Marie), and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother John Timothy Pickle.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, August 7th, at 7pm in Clemmons.
