Jane was born on October 19, 1950, in Hickory, North Carolina, and resided in Clemmons, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Osborne and Charlotte Propst of Hickory, North Carolina.
Jane was a graduate of Hickory High School in Hickory, North Carolina. She then attended Capital University in Columbus, Ohio followed by the Medical Technology Program at North Carolina Baptist Hospital/Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Up until her retirement in 2015, Jane worked at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in the chemistry STAT lab and Clinical Hematology. Jane generously shared her knowledge of the labs with countless new students and new hospital employees. Through her years working at the hospital, Jane made many work friends. These friends became like family through the years, supporting each other through the good times and the hard times.
Over the years, Jane also enjoyed Emerald Isle, North Carolina with her beach friends. She enjoyed making baskets. A devoted sports fan, Jane was especially devoted to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and attended many basketball and football games. She followed all Wake Forest sports for years. Jane also had a deep love for dogs, especially Scottish Terriers and Boston Terriers.
In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her great niece, Abigail Kanupp; and her brother-in-law, Paul Kanupp. She is survived by her sister, Linda Kanupp of Dallas, North Carolina; nephews, Matt (Mendy) Kanupp of Dallas, North Carolina and Jeff (Clara) Kanupp of Conover, North Carolina; and cherished great nieces and nephews. Jane also leaved behind a host of cherished friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9th at 11am at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home in Clemmons.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jane's honor to Trellis Supportive Care, Cancer Patient Support Program (CPSP), or the Forsyth Humane Society.
