

Janet White Cifrese, much loved mother and grandmother, passed away to join her heavenly father on December 23, 2013. She was born June 6, 1932, in Daytona Beach, Florida. She met and married Frank Cifrese in 1956. Janet was active in her church at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Daytona Beach where she was a President of the Carmelites and Council of Catholic Women, a Eucharistic minister, and minister to the sick. She also worked for the Council of Aging in Daytona Beach. Janet moved with her husband to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to retire, where she was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church and participated in the women’s bible study group.
Janet is survived by her brother, Albert White, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, her three daughters, Barbara Lawyer and her husband Jeff of Winston-Salem, Mary Elizabeth Silliman and her husband Dan of Winter Springs, Florida, and Christina Leonard and her husband Barry of Clemmons, North Carolina. She was loved by six grandchildren, Amy Lawyer Robbins, Christopher Lawyer, Paul Silliman, Katie Silliman, Sarah Leonard, and Jacob Leonard. Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Frank.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ann Lowe and the staff of Vienna Village for making our mother feel safe and well cared for.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Leo’s Catholic Church at 11:00 am on Friday, December 27, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Forsyth County Humane Society, 61 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27104, or to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
