Joan Corrie Worth went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 11, 2021. She leaves behind her husband, Robert H. Worth, daughter, Pamela Worth Harris (Michael), and granddaughter, Elizabeth Chandler Harris.
Joan was born in Wilmington, Delaware on August 7, 1935 to Ernest Paul Corrie and Dorothy Brooks Corrie. She attended school in the public school system of Delaware. After graduation and throughout her life, Joan worked in administration in many industries including: the Delaware Board of Education, Murray Space Shoe Laboratory in NYC, Earl F Slick Enterprises in Winston-Salem, and finally at Wake Forest University in the Psychology department.
She loved gardening and spent time as a member of the Audubon Garden Club. However, she most loved her time spent with her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother.
Joan truly loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and a deacon. Joan also participated in Precept Bible Study. She dedicated her life and time to God, her church, and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Ernest Paul Corrie, Jr., James Joseph Corrie, and Thomas Joseph Corrie (Sandy) of Mims, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Winston Salem or the Forsyth County Humane Society.
