

Clemmons- JoAnne Brandt Kronberg, died on March 24, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center after a brief illness. Visitation for Ms. Kronberg will be from 4 to 6 PM Wednesday, March 27, at Frank Vogler & Sons Clemmons Chapel. A prayer service will begin at 6:00 PM.
JoAnne was born in Manitowoc, WI to the late Mr. & Mrs. Norman and Dorothy Wier Brandt. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and earned her Masters in Education from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. She was an educator for more than 24 years the majority of which was at Ashely Middle School in Winston-Salem, NC.
Her passion for educating children was demonstrated by her teaching locally and supporting programs that benefitted children's education globally. She was a constant volunteer in her community, her son's schools and activities in her church. JoAnne was a life long Green Bay Packers fan. She was always expanding her knowledge and was selected by NOAA to serve in a summer program to conserve marine ecosystems and natural resources in Alaska. JoAnne enjoyed her knitting group and was active at Holy Family Catholic Church where she was a member since 1987. JoAnne truly had a passion to serve others.
She is survived by her sons, Edward Kronberg(Joanna) of Columbia, SC and Christopher Kronberg of Newton, NC; her sister, Mary Maples(Michael) of Manitowoc, WI; nieces, Kristin Lamers and Julie Maples; nephew, Jeff Maples; two great nieces, and one great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and her former spouse Edward Kronberg.
JoAnne's family would like to extend a special thank you to her neighbors, Kathy and Scott, for their love and support of JoAnne and her family; her church family; and the staff of Forsyth Medical Center for their expert care and support during her illness.
