

"J.T." Longbottom, 72, passed away Friday, August 02,2013 at his home. He was born May 21, 1941 in Wilkes County a son to the late Grover Calvis Longbottom and Pauline Elizabeth Sloop Longbottom. He was of the Baptist faith.
On July 13, 1969 he married the love of his life the former P. Ruth Blevins. J.T. was a pipe fitter and retired from Associated Sprinkler in Greensboro. He served four years in the North Carolina National Guard.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Donald Longbottom. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Ruth Longbottom of the home; one son, John Kevin Longbotham and wife, Greta; one stepson Michael Stokes and wife, Lynn; three grandchildren, Justin Stokes and wife, Rita, Will and Sinclaire Longbotham; one great-granddaughter, Naomi Stokes; and one brother, Grover Longbottom of State Road, NC.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 5th in the Chapel of Frank Vogler and Sons, Clemmons Chapel, with Dr. Jeff Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends Monday: one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Ruth's co-workers in Day Hospital and WFBMS for their friendship and special care given to J.T. and Ruth during this difficult time.
