

John was born in Chicago on April 27,1935 to his parents, Nicholas and Jennie (Davoli) Nigro. John served his country during the Korean War in the Army as a member of the National Security Agency in Washington DC. John retired from the US Post Office after 38 years of service with the last position being Manager of Retail Sales North Suburban Illinois.
John met his wife Francis (Douglas) while working at the Edison Company in Chicago and they were married for 59 years. Francis passed away in 2018. John and Francis have four children, Lynn, John (Sharon), Michelle (Don) and Daniel (Rita). He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Nick, Samantha, Morgan, Gena, Matthew, Dana, Danielle and great grandchildren, Lilly, Ivy, Owen, Ashland, Parker, Ronin. John had two brothers, Joseph and Paul who he loved dearly and many uncles and cousins.
John enjoyed spending time with his family in Hayward Wisconsin each summer for over forty years. This was a special place that each generation was able to experience over the years. John also enjoyed his time being a starter/cart attendant at Tanglewood Golf Course in Clemmons NC. John and Francis were members of Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons NC for over 25 years.
The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 11AM at Saint Pascal Catholic Church, 3935 N Melvina Ave, Chicago, IL 60634.
