Joyce Rogers Douglas

Joyce was born the daughter of Howard and Marjorie Gillespie, in Leicester, NC on September 12, 1939, and throughout her long and full life, she touched the hearts of many with her kindness, grace, and unwavering love. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished every moment spent with family. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and gentle wisdom will be remembered by all who knew her.

Her strength, resilience, and faith were a constant source of inspiration for those around her, and she was a guiding light for her family and friends, always offering support, encouragement, and unconditional love.

She is survived by her son, Rick Rogers and his children Logan and Sheridan Rogers. Daughter, Laurie Ashley and her children, Drew Ashley and Luke Ashley and wife, Hannah. Brother, Ed Gillespie and wife, Helen. Brother-in-law, Richard Rogers and wife, Judy. who will forever hold her in their hearts. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will live on in the lives she touched and the memories she created with those she loved.

A celebration of her life will be held at Frank Vogler & Sons, 2849 Middlebrook Drive, Clemmons, NC on September 28th from 1:00-3:00pm where friends and family are invited to come together to honor her memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clemmons United Methodist Church, Clemmons, NC or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her memory, reflecting Joyce’s lifelong commitment to helping others.

Rest in peace, Mom. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
