

She was born September 23, 1920 in Davie County, a daughter of Charles Edward and Josie Swearingen Smith. She married Charles Thomas Ward Sr.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one son, Christopher Douglas.
Surviving are one son, Tommy (Marlise) Ward of Lewisville; one step-granddaughter, Angela M. DaSilva of Clemmons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Juanita was a homemaker. She was a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church, Clemmons, Garden Club, and Clemmons Civic Club Auxiliary.
A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at Frank Vogler and Sons Clemmons Chapel in Clemmons. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons.
