

She was born on August 21, 1921 to Talmage S. Teague and Mae Thomas Teague in St. Paul, NC.
She had two older brothers and an older sister. They moved to Fairmont, NC where Kate lived until she went to UNCG in Greensboro where she received her teaching degree in home economics. She started teaching In Burgaw NC where she met and married Rev. William A. Poole. She had several more teaching positions until she retired in 1986. After she retired she did a lot of volunteer work and was faithful to the church. She was a member of College park Baptist Church for many years.
She raised three sons, Bill Poole (Betty), Bob Poole (Suzie) and Barry Poole and lost a son John Allen Poole in 1953. She was married to Bill Sr. for 42 years until his death in 1989. She was a very talented woman and loved playing the organ, piano and doing hand work. She had dear friends that helped her through some hard time. She had several nieces and nephews and family members that she loved dearly.
She was a good wife, sister, aunt, friend and mom. She will be missed by her family and anyone that knew her.
The family would like to thank the and care given by the staff at Trinity Elms in Clemmons NC and Community Home Care and Hospice in Statesville, NC. We couldn’t have made it through without them.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Forsyth Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Shane Nixon.
