Kattie Gobble Mashburn, 74, of Wallburg, North Carolina, passed away on September 18, 2026. Kattie was born in Clemmons, North Carolina, to the late Howard and Margaret Foster Gobble. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Milton Mashburn Jr., and her brother , Stamey Gobble.
Kattie worked for R. J. Reynolds for 30 years. She was dedicated to her church and lived her life with a remarkable kindness and generosity toward others. She was the kind of person who was always willing to help someone in need, never expecting anything in return. Caring for others came naturally to her. Kattie had an exceptionally kind heart and found happiness in the simple things she loved- baking, working in her flowers, crafting, and spending time with family. If you knew Kattie, you knew her house had to be spotless. Her caring nature and giving spirit left a lasting impression on everyone whose life she touched.
She is survived by her son, Gregg Mashburn (Melody); daughter, Kathy Saintsing (Shane); grandchildren, Kimberly, Joshua, and Nathan Mashburn, Brandon Duggins, and Ashley Boles (Zeke); four great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Bobby, Ricky, and Kent Gobble.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Frank Vogler and Sons. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
