loving family on January 5, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife, Beth and his devoted son, Tyler and
daughter-in-law, Amy. Ken is also survived by two grandchildren, James and Virginia, who loved their
grandpa very much. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Susan, to whom he was married for 45
years. Ken is also survived by Susan’s sister, Rose Ann, and her husband, Gary, both of whom he loved
very much.
He was born in New York on November 8, 1946 and grew up on Long Island. Ken eventually went on to
earn a degree from Hartwick University. He spent most of his professional life in transportation rising to
many senior positions. Not a man to sit still, Ken later joined his brother-in-law Gary in the medical device
field and had a second and successful career.
Ken never met a stranger in his life. Whether it was his work life, social life or his life as a volunteer, he
made friends with everyone he met. He loved being a mentor at work, being the life of the party or the
person who was able to serve others at the food pantry.
He was an avid traveler and loved every minute of seeing the world with Beth.
Ken will be missed by many but remembered fondly by those he met during his amazing life.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 12 at 12p with service to follow at 1p at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home. He will be interred next to Susan at Westlawn Cemetery also in Clemmons, NC. The
family will be hosting a celebration of Ken’s life at Firebirds Grill (1215 Creekshire Way Winston-Salem)
from 4-6p on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local chapter of Hospice in Ken’s memory to honor a wonderful
organization.
