Letha Mae Combs Mellor

Letha was born on September 7, 1949, in Cooleemee, North Carolina, to the late Annie Mae and Llyod Clinton Combs.

She is survived by her son, David (Emily) Mellor; her siblings, Ethel Sell, Lawrence Combs, Robert Combs, and Wayne Combs; her grandchildren, Dakota (Caitlin) Mellor, Sydney Mellor, and Foster Mellor; and her great-grandchildren, Laci Mellor, Charli Canup, and Waylon Currie. She also leaves behind countless family members and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Mae and Llyod Clinton Combs, and her sister-in-law, Jean Combs.

A service celebrating Letha's life will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens on September 9, 2026, at 11 am, with Pastor Daron Osborne officiating. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather for a meal and fellowship at the Cooleemee Fire Department, located at 174 Marginal Street, Cooleemee, NC 27014.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Letha Mellor to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) at ocrahope.org.

Letha will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
