Mrs. Mary Catherine "Cathy" Samuel Motley

Mary Catherine “Cathy” Samuel Motley, 59 of Pfafftown, NC died Wednesday, August 31 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Greensboro, NC on January 11, 1952 to Albert Franklin and Rhoda Ann Gardner Samuel. She was a graduate of Walter Hines Page High School and Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. Cathy worked as a registered nurse at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for 30 years, from 1977 through 2007.

She is survived by her husband, Pharris Motley of Pfafftown, NC; son and daughter-in-law David and Arica Motley of Newport, NC and grandchildren Austin and Ava; son and daughter-in-law Eric and Stephanie Motley of Lewisville, NC; sister, Lynn Samuel Daines of Tarpon Springs, FL; and favorite aunt Marggie Samuel of Greensboro, NC.

The family will receive visitors at Cathy’s church, Old Town Baptist Church in Winston-Salem from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 2. A funeral service will be held at the same location at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, followed by burial at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro.
