Nicholas “Nick” George Schmitt passed away on May 2, 2025, at the age of 25. A true country soul, Nick found joy in the simple and wild things—motorcycles, trucks, fishing, hunting, racing, bowling, moonshine, pool days, and dirt. If it had wheels or a little risk to it, Nick was all in.
Born with a fearless spirit and a heart just as bold, Nick wasn’t just loved—he was beloved. In his final days, the hospital halls overflowed with people wanting to be near him, a testament to the countless lives he touched. When he made the selfless decision to become an organ donor, more than 100 friends and family lined the halls for his Honor Walk—a moving goodbye for a young man who lived and gave so fully.
To many, Nick was their best friend, their riding partner, the one they called to fix anything and everything. To his family, he was more than a cousin—he was another little brother. Despite living miles apart, Nick and his brother Chris were woven into the everyday fabric of his cousins’ childhood, sharing memories and mischief like siblings do.
Nick shared a deep and beautiful love with his fiancée, Madison. She was his home, his best friend, and already his wife in his heart. Their life together was filled with joyful adventures and everyday moments. Together, they built a world full of love, devotion, and dreams for the future. Though Nick’s time here was far too short, their bond was timeless and unbreakable.
Nick leaves behind a legacy of laughter, adrenaline, and unwavering loyalty. He taught us what it meant to live big, love fiercely, and show up for one another.
He preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Lee & Joseph Clarke and George Schmitt. He is survived by his parents George & Debbie Schmitt, his grandmother Elizabeth "Nana Pat" Schmitt, his brother Christopher, his beloved fiancée Madison, his dogs Mikey & Maple, and a community of family and friends who will forever carry his spirit forward.
The visitation will be held at Frank Vogler & Sons in Clemmons, NC on May 8, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons, NC on May 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM. The burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who wish to honor Nick's life to make a donation to either Donate Life America or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
