Mrs. Ola Linville Whicker

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Edna Linville of Santa Anna, CA; husband, Gilmer C Whicker; daughter, Marcia Lynn Whicker of Orange, NJ; brother, Byron Linville of Walkertown NC, sister and husband, Mable and Lewis Bickerton of Reseda, CA.

She is survived by her son and wife, Stephen and Charlynn Whicker of Dallas, TX, brother–in-law, Folger Lester Whicker of Diamondhead, MS; sister–in-law, Maudessa Linville of Walkertown, NC; and nine nieces and nephews.

After attending Salem College, Ola enjoyed a short career with Hanes Knitting.

As a sixty year member of Maple Springs Methodist Church, she was an active participant in many different organizations.

She was also a Girl Scout leader and in later years, a participant in many Boy Scout activities. She was an accomplished seamstress, avid gardener, and for solitude a whiz at cross word puzzles.

A graveside service will be Sunday, March 10, 2013, 2:00 pm, at Love’s United Methodist Church in Walkertown with Pastor Jeff Coppley officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 9, 2013, 6:00-8:00 pm, at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel.
