Oran is predeceased by his parents, Erich and Vera Wendt; his sisters Kay Nespor and Dora Dotson; and a brother Fred Wendt all of Wichita, Kansas.
Oran is survived by Joy Wendt, his loving wife of 65 years. They were married in Wichita, Kansas on June 16th, 1957. He is also survived by two brothers, Erich Wendt, Jr., Wichita, Kansas and Frank Wendt of Brush Prairie, Washington, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Oran is remembered by son, Kyle and wife Cathy of Bermuda Run, North Carolina; a daughter Deborah Wendt of Bermuda Run, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jeff Wendt, Bermuda Run, North Carolina, Lindsay Gioeli of Bermuda Run, North Carolina, Jay and Anna Daggett of Clemmons, North Carolina, Mitchell and Ashley Kyle of Clemmons, North Carolina, Chris and Shelby Moxley of Mocksville, North Carolina, and Sadee and Daniel Moxley of Mocksville, North Carolina.
Oran is also survived by 10 greatgrandchildren; eight girls and two boys.
Kyle's grandchildren are Brody, Blakely, Bennett and Brooks Daggett, and Debbie's grandchildren are Adeline and Elsie Kyle, Avery Zerr, Emmy and Ava Moxley, and Willow Moxley.
Oran was born in Manter, Kansas on November 25th, 1936 and was part of the U.S. Army and National Guard while in Kansas. He had a career in Telecommunications for 36 years until retirement and then became a Real Estate Agent for 15 years. He served on the Deacon Board of Clemmons Baptist Church.
A Celebration Of Life will be held Tuesday, July 5 at 2PM at Clemmons First Baptist Church. Inurnment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
