Rachel Lucille Booze Pfaff, 87, of Tobaccoville, NC, passed away October 10, 2014. She was born in Stokes County to Charlie D. and Effie Mae Caudle Booze. She was an active member of Mizpah Moravian Church as long as her health permitted, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was also a member of The Gideons International Auxiliary, carrying a purse full of Gideon Bibles everywhere she went so that she might share them. She loved her God and was the heart of her family, loving us all and daily guiding our steps. She is now resting in the arms of Jesus and celebrating with her beloved husband H.F., who preceded her in death in December 2012.
Rachel was born to a family of 13 children; nine of whom preceded her in death: brothers Clifton, Hilary, Howard, J.E., Robert and Shelton “Shack” Booze; sisters Betty Lou Hylton, Doris and Geneva Booze and Pauline Hauser. She is survived by children, Judy Albert (Eddie), Kathy Long (Tom), Chuck Pfaff; grandchildren Zachary Albert, Brooke Albert Smitherman (Andrew), Chuck Long (Julie) and Derek Long; great grandchildren Caroline and Anna Albert, Phoebe Smitherman, Rachel and Peyton Long. Also surviving are sister Maeola (Masie) Key, brother Jack Booze (Judy) and brother-in-law Alfred Pfaff (Johnnie).
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Mizpah Moravian Church, with burial following in God’s Acre. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 12, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Vogler and Sons Funeral Home Reynolda Chapel.
