Roger Allen Foote

Roger Allen Foote was born in Fort Wayne, IN to Herbert C. and Dorothy Converse Foote on February 3, 1938. He passed away in Winston-Salem, NC on March 9, 2018. Roger was a graduate of South Side High School, Fort Wayne, IN. He earned an associate's degree in Engineering Technology, followed by a B.S. dergree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University, Fort Wayne Campus. He served four years in the U.S. Navy Security Group. During that time he was stationed on Adak, Alaska and Bremerhaven, Germany. After being employeed at Magnavox Corp, Rea Magnet Wire and Phelps Dodge Inca Division, the Foote family followed a moving van to Bucyrus, Ohio (Swan Hose Amerace Corp), Greenwood, SC (Flexible Tubing Abbeville), Tarboro, NC (Anaconda Wire & Cable) and Winston-Salem (RJ Reynolds Tobacco) where Roger held 4 patents. Roger was employed at American Tobacco in Reidsville, NC prior to forming his own company, Foote Engineering. He was a professional engineer in North and South Carolina. He was prededed in death by his parents, brother Herbert Foote, sisters Carol Grabowski and Betty Pallone. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Naomi DeBrular Foote, daughter Rebecca Foote Richardson (Wayne) of Elgin, SC, sons Roger Allen Foote, Jr, of Washington, DC and Douglas T. Foote, Winston-Salem, grandchildren: Rachel Richardson, Bailey Foote, Ethan Richardson and Sonya Foote in addition to nieces and nephews in Indiana. A memorial service will be planned for the near future. Memorials may be made in Roger's memory to Veterans Helping Veterans Heal, 3614 N. Glenn Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 or to the charity of your choice.

I remember being neighbors in Fort Wayne; visiting you all in Ohio and coming to Tarboro one summer.
