Ronald "Ron" Edward Quigley

Ronald Edward Quigley, 82, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026. Born on September 27, 1943, Ron lived a life defined by love of family, service to others, hard work, and a genuine enjoyment of life.

Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Anneliese Quigley who was by his side throughout their remarkable life together. He is also survived by his sons, Thomas Quigley (Beth) and John Quigley (Tammy); grandchildren Amanda Benton(Joshua), Jacob Johnson, and Nicholas Quigley; and great-grandchildren Casey Quigley, Carter Hartman, and Elliana Benton. He is also survived by his brothers, Emmitt Quigley of Kentucky and Harry Quigley of West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Buster Quigley, and his sister, Freda.

Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1970. Following his military service, he built a long and hardworking career. He retired from RJ Reynolds in the 1990s and continued working for several years with Bahnson Mechanical Systems. His dedication to his work and to providing for his family was a testament to the kind of man he was.

Ron was also deeply committed to his community and fellow veterans. He was a member of American Legion Post 55 and VFW Post 9010, where he served as a member of the VFW Honor Guard. He was also an active member of the Moose Lodge for many years. Through these organizations and his service, Ron continued to give his time and friendship to others long after his military career had ended.

Above all else, Ron was a family man. He led his family well, from his children through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His love, guidance, strength, and example helped shape generations of his family. He took great pride in watching his family grow and cherished the time he spent with those he loved.

Ron knew how to enjoy life, too. He loved spending time at Sherry's in Clemmons, where he enjoyed good company, playing pool and making memories. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and in his younger years he had a passion for racing. From 1980 to 1986, Ron raced at Bowman Gray Stadium and other tracks, creating memories and friendships that stayed with him throughout his life.

Ron will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, humor, hardworking spirit, love of family, and willingness to serve others. He leaves behind a legacy that is not measured only by the years he lived, but by the lives he touched and the family he helped build.

His family takes comfort in knowing that the lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and the love he gave will continue through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Ronald Edward Quigley will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of his family and friends.
