

Mr. Carlton is survived by his sons, Rex Carlton (Dawn) and Eric Carlton (Allison); sisters, Marie Wicker (Jim) and Ruth Hurt (James); grandchildren, Brooke, Erika, and Kelsey.
Mr. Carlton was a 1948 graduate of Boonville High School.
He joined the US Army and served for 2 years during the Korean Conflict.
He was a valuable employee with Hanes Hosiery for 41 ½ years.
Mr. Carlton enjoyed sharing his love for the Lord with others. He attended Piedmont Bible College for 3 ½ years. In his early adulthood he was a deacon, Stockade director, teacher, and adult men at Pfafftown Baptist Church. He was a founder, treasurer, and teacher at Bible Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a monthly minister with the W.S. Rescue Mission for over 30 years. Mr. Carlton also ministered with the Forsyth Prison Ministries for 35 years, a minister with Blanche Prison in Yanceyville, NC for 3 years, and a minister with The Brian Center in Winston-Salem.
A funeral service will be Friday, June 1, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at Bible Fellowship Baptist Church in Pfafftown. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 31, 2012, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice; close neighbors; extended family; and friends for the exceptional care and support given Roy during his illness.
