

Born on October 17, 1953, Kyle was a proud lifelong North Carolinian. He graduated from West Forsyth High School and went on to attend Davidson Community College. A hard-working man throughout his life, Thomas dedicated his career to several well-known establishments, including Alpine Beverage, Jimmy the Greek, Rhino SES, and in semi/ retirement the Graylyn Hotel and Conference Center.
Kyle was a devoted father to his daughters, Carma Buchanan (Ryan) and Ashley Buchanan, and a loving grandfather to James Chandler Severt. He is also survived by his mother, JoAnn Buchanan; his brother, Mark Buchanan; his niece, Tommi Buchanan Timberlake; his special uncle, Harvey Staples; and many cousins and aunts who he loved dearly.
A man of deep patriotism and principle, Thomas was a proud Republican, an Eagle Scout, and an avid supporter of local sports. He loved Wake Forest Baseball, the Winston-Salem Dash, NASCAR, motorcycles and a passionate collector of gun. He was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in King, where he enjoyed fellowship and Sunday school.
Around 26 years ago, Kyle accepted his sobriety and became a member of AA. He found a very special family in the 10:30 Group. He rarely missed a meeting and loved being the Official Coffee Maker. He enjoyed the fellowship and close friends he made within the group. He was genuine and always willing to help.
A visitation will be held Saturday July 26, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Frank Vogler and Sons in Clemmons, NC. Burial will follow at the Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will also host a Reception at Truist Stadium, 951 Ballpark Way, Winston-Salem following the burial starting at 12 pm for all who loved Kyle.
Kyle will be remembered for his loyalty, his humor, and the deep love he had for his family, faith, and country.
