

Tom is preceded in death by his wife Nancy (Naumann) Noffsinger, Father John D. Noffsinger, Mother Irma (Little) Noffsinger, sister Jene Melton, and his brother William Noffsinger. He is survived by his children Joyce (Noffsinger) White (Michael White), Clemmons, NC, Janet Noffsinger, Edinboro, PA, Robert (Bob) Noffsinger, Winston-Salem, NC, Scott Noffsinger (Katy Noffsinger), Greenville, TX. Nine (9) Grandchildren, and Eighteen (18) Great Grandchildren.
Tom was born in Red House, West Virginia. In his early teens Tom delivered papers for the Charleston Gazette. At 16 years old Tom was the winner of the first annual Charleston Gazette Bicycle Derby. He took home a Deluxe Schwinn Bicycle and won a trip to Columbus, OH to compete in the All-American Newspaper Boys Championship Bicycle Derby National Championship on August 28th, 1949.
Tom graduated from Poca High School, Poca, WV, in 1950. Tom spent time working on the barges on the Kanawa River.
In January of 1954 he entered the United States Marine Corps. He was Honorably Discharged in 1957. When he returned from service, he met and married his wife of 64 years Nancy Noffsinger. He volunteered with the Fanwood Rescue Squad where he responded to over 1,000 emergencies, helped many people in need over the years, and was awarded Lifetime Membership.
In his retirement, Tom was an avid golfer. When he wasn’t playing golf, he spent his time as a Course Ranger at Tanglewood Golf Club in Clemmons, NC. He retired from playing when he was in his early 80’s.
