With profound sadness I join Alan's friends and family in missing Alan, savoring our times, and cherishing our memories.  Peace and love Alan.

I worked with Alan at Johnson & Swanson.  Such a very special person to know and he was blessed to always make others laugh.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Mrs. Rich and to all of Alan's family.  I knew Alan years ago at Johnson & Gibbs law firm in Dallas.  Becky is right, it was a joy to have Alan as a friend.  He was smart and witty and always ready to have some fun.  He cared deeply for his many friends.  He always remembered our birthdays (even years after he moved from Dallas to Las Vegas, I would still receive a birthday greeting email from Alan every year).  I know Alan loved his family very much.  And I know how much he loved his friends.  He was an enigma in many ways, but his good and bright spirit was clear to see.  Alan, I miss you.  Please put my name on that list.

We warmly remember â€“ with love and smiles â€“ countless fun family times, holidays, and travel together growing up; and know that Irv, David, and Alan are sharing with each other their frustration with the poor performance of the Indians, Browns, and Cavs!

Dear Sally and Family,

It is beyond heartbreaking to know that Alan has left us.  My memories of Alan are all so beautiful, delightful, and fun.  From Alan's passion for sports and his "I" on Sports column in the Shaker school newspaper; that truly was begun by his hero, your David a few years before....to Alan's love of music...deep love of music...but no song was more special than his laughter that I can still hear.  I miss him and will always love him for all that he had given to me;  his sincerity and friendship.  My deepest love and condolences to you, Sally...always and forever.

Mrs. Rich - I knew Alan a long time ago when I worked at Johnson & Swanson.  He was such a nice man and so much fun to be around.  I am so sad to hear of his passing.  I send my condolences to you and your family during this most difficult time.  I can see Alan in my mind right now smiling and I will remember him that way.

I was very sad to hear this.  I had a very pleasant dinner with Alan in July, and he seemed to be upbeat about moving back to Dallas.  Alan was a valuable former Partner, and more, a good friend.  My sincerest condolences to the family.

I am shocked and sad.  Alan was a great colleague and a very funny man.  We had great times together at Johnson & Swanson, and Alan was great to work with in our Harvard Lampoon style "Firm Skits."  I will miss him.  My deepest sympathies to his other friends and family.  Alan Rich

Mrs. Rich - am truly saddened to learn of Alan's passing.  I knew him at Johnson & Gibbs and worked with him, Mikelle Calhoun and Dan Artz when they formed their own firm.  Kathleen O'Connell & I  had the opportunity to spend some time with him when were in Las Vegas a few years ago.  He kindly drove us around and it was fun catching up.  

Alan will be missed.  My sincere condolences.

Alan was a great friend of mine from Johnson & Gibbs (Swanson) and someone who was always up for my "shannigans" of fun! Dear Sally - my condolences to you for your loss.  Alan and I shared many laughs in high school.  He will be missed.

As my heart breaks for Sally and the entire Inglis/Rich family, I look past recent issues and remember Alan's wonderful qualities that will be so missed.  Alan was for a while my business partner and we had a friendship that spanned many years and at times was very close.  Alan got me to try new things like painting and we had fun being part of a band for a few years, playing in his dining room. We shared many meals, many movies and so much more. He loved to debate and made me challenge assumptions. He also sometimes helped me remember to be more considerate of others. He was a strong source of support for many years. I admired his organization, his intelligence, his sense of ethics and his strong bond with his family even when living states away. Even in recent years as distance and life separated us, there were many phone calls. He would engage me in intellectual discussions, sometimes to help keep me focused and awake while driving late at night. 
Alan was an important part of my life and he will never be forgotten.
