

passed away peacefully at his home on September 25, 2018. Alvin was born in Cleveland , Ohio on August 20,1923. He was a graduate of John Adams High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII stationed in the South Pacific. Upon his return to Cleveland, he attended the Cleveland College of Case Western Reserve University receiving a Bachelor's degree in accounting. After college, he and his best friend, Carl Milstein formed Alvin Homes specializing in developing the western suburbs of Cleveland. After his successful career in building, Alvin entered the profession of mortgage banking . Starting with three employees, the company he founded, Leader Mortgage would eventually employ 200 people and locations in several cities, becoming the largest mortgage Banking Company in Ohio . Alvin served as president of Ohio Mortgage Bankers Association, Treasurer of the national Association of Mortgage Bankers. Alvin also served as president of the Warrrensville Center Synagogue, now known as Oheb Zedek-Cedar Sinai Synagogue. Alvin also held positions as a board member and various officer's roles within the community, including The Menorah Park, Israel Bonds of Cleveland, The Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, The Maltz Family Foundation and the Siegal College Foundation, just to mention a few of his activities on behalf of this community he loved. Alvin is survived by his beloved wife Laura (nee Boxerbaum). Loving father of Michael Siegal and Kirk (Jurate) Schneider. Devoted grandfather of Cathryn (Robert) Siegal Bergman, Justine Siegal, Lindsey (Ilana) Siegal and Benjamin Schneider. Adored great grandfather of Jasmine Warren, Jeremiah, Reuben and Asher Siegal and Henry Bergman. Dear brother of the late Marcia Siegal and cherished son of the late Minnie and Harry Siegal. Dear brother in law of Arlene and Norman Golovan and uncle of Bruce, Gary (Karen) and Ronald (Lisa) Golovan. The family deeply appreciates the unwaiving devotion and skill of Alvin's caregivers, Anzhela Donchenko and Jovita Kazlauskiene and the wisdom ,loyalty and friendship of Rajnikant Patel. Services will be held Friday, September 28 at the Oheb Zedek-Cedar Sinai Synagogue 23749 Cedar Rd. Lyndhurst, OH. AT 12:30 PM. Interment Zion Memorial Park. Friends who wish may contribute to the Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Program c/o Case Western Reserve University. FAMILY WILL RECEVIE FRIENDS FOLLOWING SERVICES AND INTERMENT AT THE BEECHMONT COUNTRY CLUB 29600 CHAGRIN BLVD. ORANGE OHIO UNTIL 6 PM. SHIVA WILL BE OBSERVED AT THE RESIDENCE BEGINNING TUESDAY EVENING, OCTOBER 2nd FROM 7 PM-9 PM AND WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3rd, 2 PM-4 PM-& 7 PM-9 PM.
