Andrea Newman

Born in New York City to Charles and Miriam Kasdan Haas, Andrea was raised in Dumont, NJ. She dedicated her career to education, serving as a school teacher and guidance counselor for the Parma Schools. Andrea earned her bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and her master’s degree from Cleveland State University.

Andrea was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who found great joy in spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved her grandchildren, her dogs, reading, and creating lasting memories with those she loved most.

She is survived by her sons, Aaron Newman (Mary), Andrew Newman, and Alan Newman (Kristen); her brother, Robert Haas Alan (Elaine Guttmann); and her beloved grandchildren, Madeline Grace, Elizabeth Harper, Spencer Alexander, Kathryn Lynne (Alexander Michael), Andrew Lamont, and Emily Audra and life companion Alan Kraig.

Andrea was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
