Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Community Leader
Armin Guggenheim, 95, of Beachwood, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
Born on February 24, 1930, to the late Norbert and Fanny (née Kissinger) Guggenheim, Armin was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Glenville High School. He went on to attend the University of Michigan, where he earned a degree in accounting.
In 1959, Armin founded Guggenheim Realty, which would become not just a successful business, but a lasting legacy. Shortly after launching the company, he met the love of his life, Charlotte (née Rosenthal), whom he married in June of 1961. Both partnerships proved enduring and deeply fulfilling.
Throughout his distinguished career, Armin was a respected leader in the real estate community. He served on the Cleveland Area Board of Realtors and was proud to be President of the Ohio Association of Realtors, advocating for professional standards and ethical practices in the industry.
Armin was also known for his remarkable vitality and zest for life. A lifelong athlete, he was an avid skier, jogger, and tennis player. He continued skiing until the age of 91 and played tennis until March of this year.
He and Charlotte shared a love of travel, creating memories that spanned the globe. From cycling through Europe, to family ski trips and Disneyland adventures with their grandchildren, to a meaningful roots tour in Frankenwinheim, Germany—where the Guggenheim family was honored with a stepping stone ceremony—Armin lived life fully and with purpose.
Above all, Armin cherished his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Charlotte; his brother, Howard; his loving children Jon (Cindy), Mike (Abbey), and Ellen; and his adored grandchildren Haley, Jamie, and Ryan. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Armin spent his final day doing what he loved most—visiting the offices of Guggenheim Realty and watching the Cleveland Guardians playoff game with Charlotte by his side.
A funeral service will be held at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Bet Olam Cemetery.
