

Arnold L.King, dearly beloved husband of Gerrie (nee Beckler); devoted father of Donald, Laura (Robert) Geuder and Richard (Jean); cherished grandfather of Rebecca, Rachel, Jonathan, Jaclyn, Julia and Daniel; dear brother of the following deceased: Janet Mednik and Dr. Sidney King. Born August 18, 1925 in Cleveland. Graduated Glenville High School, June of 1943. He served two years in the Army, saw combat in WW II, was wounded in action and returned to civilian life in 1945. Graduated from Adelbert College of Western Reserve University in June of 1948. Entered the building business in 1949. Received a Masters in Business Administration from Weatherhead School of Case Western Reserve University in January 1974. Mr. King had been in the building and real estate development business for 49 years. He had been involved in the construction of single family homes, apartments suites, the development of residential lots, and over the past 30 years had been involved in the development and construction of condominiums and suburban office buildings. Mr. King had been heavily involved in civic and philanthropic endeavors for many years. He was a past President of the Building Industry Association of Greater Cleveland, a life national director of the National Association of Home Builders and a past President of the Alumni Board of the Weatherhead School of Management of Case Western Reserve University. Mr. King served as chairman of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, was Vice President of the Jewish Community Center, served as Vice President of HIAS, and on the Board of the Jewish Community Federation. He had also served on the Board of Trustees of Hillel, JCF Housing, Inc., the Cuyahoga County Hospital Foundation and Park Synagogue. Mr. King had for many years been actively involved in political affairs. He was appointed and served as Foreman of the Cuyahoga County Grand Jury. Services will be held at Park Synagogue East, 27500 Shaker Blvd., Pepper Pike, Sunday, June 7 at 2:30PM. Interment Bet Olam Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Beechmont Country Club, 29600 Chagrin Blvd, Orange IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING INTERMENT SUNDAY UNTIL 8PM and MONDAY AT THE POINT EAST COMMUNITY ROOM, 27500 CEDAR RD. BEACHWOOD 7- 9PM. Contributions are suggested to the MS Society or the charity of choice.
