Berta Baraz

Holocaust Survivor • Beloved Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother

Berta Baraz passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025. Born in Ukraine, Berta was a courageous Holocaust survivor whose life was a profound testament to strength, resilience, and love.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Samuel and Rachel Shterengold-Rothchiner and the beloved adopted daughter of Jacob and Sophia Baraz. Berta was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Leonid Rozenberg.

A woman of deep values and unwavering dedication to family and tradition, Berta found great joy in cooking and in spending meaningful time with her loved ones—her family, friends, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She leaves to forever cherish her memory her loving son, Alex Rozenberg (Helen); her devoted daughter, Margarita Potakh; her adoring grandchildren, Svetlana Zilberman, Galina Rozenberg, Irene Rozenberg, and Stacey Reid; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Allie Zilberman and Adam Zilberman.

A funeral service will be held at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:00 A.M.

Interment will follow at Mount Sinai Cemetery, 6576 White Road, Mayfield, Ohio.44143
