

Carole Mason passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026. She was born to Milton and Lily Hyman and was a devoted member of the Jewish faith and the Beth Israel Temple community.
Carole dedicated 38 years to teaching fourth grade in the Berea City Schools. She was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and later shared her love of Ohio history with her students. Teaching was not simply a career for Carole it was a calling, and she cherished the many friendships she made with fellow teachers, including a wonderful circle of retired teacher friends.
A lifelong Cleveland Guardians fan, Carole enjoyed following her team and spending time with the people she loved most. She was an amazing grandmother and especially treasured traveling to Cincinnati and New York to visit her grandchildren. She also loved to travel with her beloved late husband, Philip, with whom she shared many wonderful memories. Carole was a devoted wife who lovingly cared for Philip in his later years.
Carole leaves to cherish her memory her children, Robert Mason (Michelle) and Deborah Lefkowitz (Adam); and her beloved grandchildren Griffin, Marlowe and Harper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Lily Hyman; her beloved husband, Philip Mason; and her sisters, Judith Wolf and Dorothy Green.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Solon, Ohio.
