Carolyn G. Whittington, 80, of Shaker Heights, Ohio, passed away on January 29, 2026. Born on December 25, 1945, in Cleveland, to Harold and Helen Goodman, Carolyn is survived by her nephew Daniel and his wife Karen, and her grandnieces and grandnephew, Maya, Ezra, Ellie, and Neve. Carolyn was the beloved wife of the late Keith Whittington and dear sister to the late Emily Jaffe. Carolyn was, in spirit and truth, the “cool” aunt. She will be dearly missed by her family, her wide circle of longtime and true friends in Cleveland, and by the thousands of students for whom she taught English.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 PM on February 13, 2026, at Landerhaven, 6111 Landerhaven Dr., Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Donations to the Cleveland Museum of Art in her name are welcome.
