David Megresh

Born in Ukraine to Motya and Freida Megrish, David was a Holocaust survivor whose strength, resilience, and determination shaped the remarkable life he lived. He built a career as both an electrician and a crane operator, earning the respect of those who worked alongside him through his skill, dedication, and strong work ethic.

David had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He was an avid chess player who enjoyed the challenge of the game, loved listening to music, dancing with family and friends, and raising a toast with a fine highball. He especially enjoyed gathering with loved ones at his favorite Russian restaurants, where good food, laughter, and conversation created cherished memories.

Above all, David's greatest joy was his family. He loved both of his wives deeply and treasured every opportunity to spend time with those he loved.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Larisa; his son, Michael Megresh (Gergana); his daughter, Olga Okun (Lev); and his cherished grandchildren, Zhenya, Jess, Ethan, and Benjamin. He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, including Ilona, Ilya, Daniel, Rimma, David, and Leila.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Motya and Freida Megrish; his beloved first wife, Lyudmila; and his siblings, Alexander Megresh and Sonya Kremchanskaya.

David's courage, kindness, wisdom, and love for his family will remain an enduring legacy. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Mayfield, Ohio.
