I was shocked to find out about the untimely passing of Dean. I saw him daily when he came to work at the Metzenbaum CH. We exchanged pleasantries every time he passed thru the United States Marshal Service check point in the lobby. 
My condolences to his family, he shall be missed.

I just heard about Dean's passing and I am so shocked and saddened.  We were neighbors growing up.  While I mostly hung out with Kenny, I remember Dean as being a "really nice guy".  My most sincere sympathy goes to Dean's entire family.  You are in my thoughts.

I was sad to hear of Dean's passing.  I had the pleasure of working with Dean beginning when he joined the U.S. Trustee's office in the late 80's and early 90's.  His passion for the law and his duties was unsurpassed but I most enjoyed his wry sense of humor and humanity.  My sympathies to his family.

I was greatly saddened by Dean's passing.  Dean was a vital member of the Bankruptcy Bar and was a man of integrity.  In this time of grief, his family can take heart in the sterling reputation that Dean had in the legal community. He will be sorely missed.

Passion and enthusiasm are the two words that describe my professional experience with Dean, but most of all enthusiasm.  It was always contagious. I will continue to pray for you, his family.

I was very saddened to hear this news. While Dean was always "on the other side" and many Debtor attorneys have "Dean" stories, he was forever cordial and professional. I hope his memory will always be a blessing to his family & friends.

I had the privilege and pleasure of working on criminal investigations and prosecutions with Dean and will seeing him in the courthouse.  He was a man of integrity and compassion. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss. Dean was a great colleague, a focused and effective lawyer, and a fearless advocate. I once saw him stand up to a group of six big-firm lawyers. In a reasoned and methodical way, he explained his position to the Court and he kept at it until he won the day. I was so impressed. He was also very humble about his ability. His professionalism was never questioned. He will be sorely missed.

SDOH loved Dean!  Dean was such an awesome person to know and work with.  He loved his work, we all know that.  I can say that he was one of the kindist, smartest, and most genuine person.   His enthusiasm was contagious whether you wanted it or not :)  I've seen him confidently dressed as a pirate and a turkey at seminars. Dean wasn't just our co-worker, he was our friend.

I adored Dean.  He loved working, doing his job (while doing other jobs!), he may have been one of the most hardest-working people I know.  We loved working with him in the So. District of OH.  Regardless, he was not just somebody we worked with, he was our friend.  Turkey or  pirate costume and all :)

I will miss Dean. I liked him very much individually.  He was always friendly and professional.  He passionately pursued his sense of justice and was universally viewed as a strong advocate. I'm so sorry to learn of his loss.

Dean was a kind soul and a true friend who I will miss very much, as will his many other colleagues here who, like me, considered Dean a friend.
