Diane Leigh Solov

Diane Leigh Solov, age 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 6th, 2024. She is survived by her loving spouse of 38 years, Joel Rutchick, and her sons Sam (Melanie) and Jed (Janay) Rutchick. Devoted bubbie to Amiri. Cherished sister to Dean (Cheryl) and beloved Aunt to Eli, Alex & Jack. She is preceded in death by her mother, Rachel, Aunt Leigh and Uncle Bob.

Diane may have been small, but her heart was huge. She was kind and loving towards anyone she met. Diane loved reading, doing puzzles, going to the movies and farmers market at Shaker Square, thrift shopping and running with her dog, Blue, in Southerly Park. Diane also loved cooking, especially for family and hosting people at their home in Shaker Heights. Her favorite bands were The Who, The Beatles, Paul Simon and Bob Dylan and you could always hear one of them playing in her home. Diane loved sitting in her chair and eating sunflower seeds or popcorn watching classic movies. She loved sitting out on their back porch for hours. She especially loved when her boys both brought wives home the same year so she wouldn't be the only girl in the house anymore.

Diane was a champion for social justice reform. Her life's passion was standing up for those that couldn't stand up for themselves.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Sunday, August 11th at 3pm at the Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel located at 1985 S. Taylor Rd, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44118. Family will receive 1 hour prior to start of service.
